Post Leeds thoughts

The fallout over the Leeds stuffing is carrying on as we speak. Of course, most papers are passing this off as Leeds being tired, which considering West Ham, Newk and Spurz didn’t lose yesterday is a little hard to accept. Still, people are praising us again, let’s hope that Drillo’s pragmatism will rub off on the players, and ensure that we work to get victories against Leicester, Boro and beyond…

The players openly up for sale are: Stewart Castledine, Neil Ardley, Jon Goodman, Brian McCallister and – surprisingly – Ceri Hughes. If we can get £1m each for all of them, then that should cover ourselves. That said, a £13.5m debit is never a good idea, but thankfully the “top six” aren’t going anywhere. Though the quote by SH which stated “this season” does concern me a little.

How’s this? Watford may have to move to a bigger stadium, to get all those who discovered that Watford had a Premiership team since June 1999 into their stadium. Considering that a) it wasn’t full for our match and others, and b) if they want more capacity they could always redevelop their main shed stand (no disrespect to any passing Hornets, you know wot I mean), it does seem a little bit dumb. Coincidentally, Drillo’s mate Graham Taylor has stated (and this is absolutely genuine) “We don’t want to move 20 or even 30 miles away. We want it to be in an area where most of our fans can get to”. Spot the irony…………………………
